MA College and University Criminal Issues

MA College and Unversity Discipline Hearing

If you are a Massachusetts college or university student and have picked up a criminal charge, it is important that you are aware of the issues you are about to face.  When you pick up criminal charges it is likely that you will also be facing a college disciplinary hearing.  If you are facing MA criminal charges, it is important that you protect your legal rights by being prepared prior to attending the college hearing.

Many colleges and universities will allow the disciplinary hearing to be held until after the criminal charges are resolved.  However, if the college or university does not defer the hearing until after the criminal charges are resolved, then you have problems.  Essentially, any statement that you make during a disciplinary hearing can be used against you in court.  Therefore, you must be careful of the statements that you make during a disciplinary hearing.  Unfortunately, if you avoid answering questions at the hearing it may have a negative effect on your school status.
