MA Offenses that Require Sex Offender Registry

In Massachusetts if you are convicted of certain sex offenses you must register as a sex offender.  Here is an incomplete list of some MA sex crimes that would trigger the sex offender registry requirement.

  1. Indecent assault and battery on a child under 14
  2. Indecent assault and battery on mentally retarded person
  3. Indecent assault and battery on person 14 or over
  4. Rape
  5. Rape of child under 16 with force
  6. Rape and abuse of a child
  7. Assault with intent to commit rape
  8. Assault of a child under 16 with intent to commit rape
  9. Kidnapping of child under 16
  10. Enticing a person for prostitution or sexual intercourse
  11. Drugging persons for purpose of sexual intercourse
  12. Inducing minor in prostitution
  13. Living off of, or sharing earnings of, a minor prostitute
  14. Second and subsequent adjudication or conviction for open and gross lewdness and lascivious behavior
  15. Dissemination of matter to a minor that is harmful to a minor
  16. Possession of child pornography
  17. Incestuous intercourse or marriage
  18. Exhibiting a child in state of nudity
  19. Dissemination of visual material of child in state of nudity or sexual conduct
  20. Unnatural and lascivious act with a child under 16
  21. Attempt to commit any of the above offenses
